McBark Dog Park Presented by Gary Lang SubaruClick here for the Dog Park Registration Packet. The 4 acre McBark Dog Park is located north of the McHenry Kohls with parking in the existing lot north of the store. We would like to thank Kohls and IDOT for their cooperation in granting the use of the site for our community dog park. Due to the generosity of Gary Lang Subaru, the annual passes are available at discounted rates.
The park features shade, a large running area for dogs, a small-dog area, onsite parking and running water. The park is open from 7:00 am to dusk. The dog park provides year–round opportunities for dogs and their owners to socialize as well as exercise – both important to an animal’s temperament and health. A dog park promotes responsible pet ownership as well as allows dogs to legally run off–leash.
An annual pass is available for local dog owners to access the facility. Gate access will be a controlled system allowing only dog pass holders. Fees for the dog park are for one calendar year from September 1 through August 31. Passes are sold in-person only at the Municipal Center.
Registration Requirements: Registration form for each dog, proof of residency for resident rate; a certificate of valid rabies/county tag number, distemper vaccinations from your vet or a vet receipt, proof of pet’s age/birthdate/adopted or rescue date.
Why Trees? Click the Tree City USA logo to see a 12 minute video on why trees are important to the community.ARBOR DAY
Arbor Day is an excellent time to plant a tree. Trees can be planted for a variety of special occasions and as memorials for someone special. It’s a great way to honor them. The Arbor Day Tree Donation Program has been established to help with all the details of planting your tree.
For further information on this program or to donate a tree, please contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 815-363-2162. The Arbor Day deadline for tree donations is April 10, 2015. Arbor Day will be celebrated on Friday, April 24, 2015, with a ceremony at 3 pm in the Municipal Center Council Chambers. We hope you can join us for this community tree planting celebration.
