The Construction and Neighborhood Services Department's overall mission is to protect and promote the health, welfare, safety and quality of life of McHenry citizens, property owners, visitors and commercial interests through the development and implementation of the City's adopted ordinances and policies - particularly those pertaining to the enforcement of building and construction codes, zoning, property maintenance compliance, land use approvals, business retention and recruitment and expansion of the tax base.
